I feel very honoured that so many talented authors have taken time out of their busy schedules to answer some questions for us at On the Tudor Trail. Our latest interviewee, Suzannah Dunn author of four Tudor books, is no exception. Her first Tudor novel, The Queen of Subtleties, was described by Alison Weir as offering:
‘A stunningly refreshing way of retelling an old story. I often abandon historical novels nowadays, but I really could not put this one down. It brings Anne Boleyn to life as never before, and, probably for the first time ever in fiction, Henry VIII emerges as a truly credible character in an authentic setting.’
Now, when such a prominent historian and author like Alison Weir gives a book such a great review then it must be worth reading. I have to say that I really loved it!
Suzannah is also author of The Sixth Wife, on Katherine Parr, The Queen’s Sorrow, set during the reign of ‘Bloody Mary’ and The Confession of Katherine Howard.
Suzannah’s responses are detailed and sincere. We discuss everything from the lure of Anne Boleyn to her favourite Tudor location in England.
