Exclusive interview with Jeane Westin and Tudor book giveaway!

His Last Letter by Jeane Westin

I have just posted our exclusive interview with Jeane Westin author of His Last Letter, a novel about Elizabeth I and The Earl of Leicester.

I found Jeane’s responses tremendously informative and interesting. We talk about everything from the lure of the Tudors, traditions of the Elizabethan court, to Elizabeth and Dudley’s tempestuous relationship.

Read the full interview here.

To coincide with our interview I am giving away a copy of Jeane Westin’s His Last Letter!

    • Thank you for your lovely feedback Bronwyn! One of my major reasons for starting the site was to build a supportive community of Anne Boleyn and Tudor fans so that we could learn from each other and share our opinions on all matters Tudor. And of course my Canadian friends can enter! Remember that if you sign up to our newsletter and join our Facebook page you receive 2 extra entries! Good luck 🙂

Oh and by the way — LOVE THE SITE, which is bringing back a load of good memories of my 3 visits to England since 2000!

    • Thank you so much Tina! It is so lovely to receive positive feedback from readers. It is for this reason that I love running the site even if it does mean MANY hours of research, writing, emailing etc. per week. You now have 3 entries in the draw so good luck! I have lots more giveaways lined up so even if you don’t win this one there are lots more to come!

  9. I think what your doing is really great, promoting the Tudor dynasty which is probably the greatest era in English history, full of passion, strength, pride. Thank you i will enjoy this website.

  10. I have spent a lot of my life reading about Queen Anne. I never understood why she had been so demonized. Very few authors in history view her as a good role model. Why not? Of all the things she wanted from her life, being a whore wasn’t one of them. Foxes writings caused quite the stir, in somewhat modern times when he championed her cause. As a woman, what choices did she have? I admire her for standing up to the men in her life, uncle, father, and brother while her mother seemed so passive. Anne is also the reason I no longer need to buy trinkets from the church so that my loved ones will go to heaven. She is the reason that I dont have to go to a priest to confess my sins but that I can speak to the Lord directly. She shook up the male status quo from Lords to priests and they hated her. Not one person had Anne’s best interest in mind. I have always asked “If not her, than who?” She was smarter than Henry. She enlightened him, not the other way around. I dont think that there is one thing that Henry taught Anne. (Other than how cruel he could be.) I can recite several things she taught him. It is so nice to find a website that supports my idea of Anne.

  11. Thanks so much for the site and giveaway! I learned about you from The Anne Boleyn Files.

I also wish I had studied history at university. I could always go back for degree number three…not sure my hubby would be too happy…

  19. Anne Fescharek says:

I love the story of Elizabeth and The Earl of Leicester. He was dashing but apparently dangerous (with a conveniently dead wife) did he truly love Elizabeth or just after her power. I saw the television film with an older Leicester regretting his loss of his chance with Elizabeth’s love. Really rather sad, if his heart was in fact, pure.
I would love to win this book. Thank you for the giveaway.
