Update on Anne Boleyn’s Portrait at the National Portrait Gallery

Anne Boleyn by Unknown artist, National Portrait Gallery

As you know I have worked very hard over the last few months to try and raise awareness of the urgent conservation work that Anne Boleyn’s iconic portrait requires.

The NPG need £4,000 to carry out the vital work and it is with great happiness that I inform you that we are almost there!

As of today the NPG has raised £3,200!

I started the Save Anne Boleyn’s Portrait Facebook page in the hope that there were others that feel as strongly as I do about this cause. A couple of months in and we have over 1300 supporters!

I would like to thank everyone who has donated, spread the word, shared the FB page with friends, blogged, tweeted or retweeted about the conservation fund.

I truly believe that each of us now own a little of Anne Boleyn’s definitive portrait.

I am putting the champagne on ice because I don’t think it will be long until we reach the goal.

In case you were thinking about donating but hadn’t got around to it yet, this is your last chance as the online donation function will be disabled at the end of the week and the remaining fundraising handed over to the Red Rose Chain Theatre Company.

So don’t procrastinate, get your donation in!

  1. It looks like I am too late, I went to the NPG website but I do not see anywhere I can donate to Anne’s portrait, do you have any information on where I can donate now, for example the Red Rose Chain Theatre company?

    thank you

  2. Hello Nay,

The Red Rose Theatre company will be collecting on behalf of the NPG at ‘Fallen in Love’ but I am not sure as to whether or not they will accept online donations. The other option might be to contact the NPG direct and explain to them that you would like to donate. I am sure they will advise you on how to proceed. Thank you!
