On this day in 1536, Catherine of Aragon died at Kimbolton Castle, Cambridgeshire. Read in more detail about her death here and about Anne Boleyn’s reaction to the news here.
Each year Peterborough Cathedral commemorates the life of Catherine of Aragon by hosting a festival and service. This year the festival will be held over the weekend of the 27th-29th of January and will include worship, fun Tudor activities for kids and history events for adults.
This year the talk will be on Henry VIII’s grandmother – The life of Margaret Beaufort and presented by Stuart Orme of Peterborough Museum.

I hope to one day be able to attend this festival to pay tribute to the extraordinary woman that was Catherine of Aragon.
I would love to hear from anyone that’s attending and remember to take lots of pictures please!
I think you write it wrong…. In the site, they say that the event is in the day 27, 28 e 29 and not 28,29 and 30 =]
Thanks Nyel! On their banner they have one date and in the schedule another. I should have checked my calendar! 🙂
