I’m back! My apologies for the lack of posts of late but I only recently returned from a ten day research trip to England and arrived home right in the middle of report writing season (I am a Primary School Teacher) and so have been immersed in my day job for the last couple of weeks. Thankfully, I now see the light at the end of the tunnel and I should be back on track with all things Tudor in the next week or so. I have lots of wonderful photos and information to share with you about my trip and guest posts, interviews, giveaways and more coming up in the next month!
So today just a quick post to announce the release of Sandra Byrd’s second novel in the Ladies in Waiting series, ‘The Secret Keeper: A Novel of Kateryn Parr‘. I received my copy yesterday and cannot wait to jump straight in! I really enjoyed ‘To Die For: A Novel of Anne Boleyn’, you can read my review here and so am looking forward to Byrd’s portrayal of Katherine Parr.
I will of course publish my review once it’s complete and to celebrate the release, Sandra Byrd has kindly offered to giveaway a pack of exquisite Anne Boleyn inspired greeting cards to one lucky commenter so watch this space for more details!
For now a little something to whet your appetite…
Pieces of her black gown fell to the ground, one by one, like the locks of a condemned woman shorn before execution, though he stayed himself from touching her bright red hair before sheathing his dagger again. Her woeful face betrayed that she knew this would be her utter undoing. The gown was ruined and the black clumps, which had plummeted to the ground, received the breath of life of a sudden and became a flock of beady-eyed ravens which took wing toward the Tower of London, whilst we watched in horror and dread.

This is so exciting! I’ve been meaning to buy “To Die For” for a while, so I’ll have to do that. Also, a novel about Katherine Parr will be an exciting change! I absolutely love the Anne Boleyn cards – I would be so happy if I win! 🙂
Nice to have you back Natalie, hope you enjoyed your trip…I bet you are shattered with your travelling and your ‘day job’ work to catch up with.
Another book to look forward to reading, my bedside stack gets higher and higher 🙂
The cards are a lovely give away, someone is going to be lucky.
Thank you Dawn! Lovely to be back and really looking forward to getting back into my sixteenth century life! 🙂
