I am delighted to share that on the 30th of July On the Tudor Trail turns three!
Over the last three years, I have researched and published hundreds of posts about Anne Boleyn and sixteenth century England and interviewed over 45 authors, experts and historians. In the process I have made many wonderful friends and contacts and learnt so much about Anne Boleyn and Tudor history.
Two people, my sister and my husband, read my first post, however this year we have welcomed more than 20,000 visitors per month – what a change!
Researching and writing about Tudor history – especially about Anne Boleyn – is my passion and a major part of my life. Next year will see the release of my first non-fiction book, that I am currently researching and co-authoring with Sarah Morris, ‘In the Footsteps of Anne Boleyn‘ and the culmination of many years of hard work.
To celebrate our three-year anniversary, I invite you to submit a letter, written as Anne Boleyn to another Tudor personality of your choice.
The letter must be no more than 500 words in length and be your original work.
Entry is only open to our mailing list subscribers (if you are not one already, sign up on our homepage).
All entries should be submitted by 30 July 2012, with the winner selected and announced shortly thereafter.
The winner will receive a fifteen-year anniversary edition of Robin Maxwell’s The Secret Diary of Anne Boleyn. This book holds a very special place in my heart, as it was the first novel that I ever read about Anne.
This is the 24th printing of this wonderful book and it includes a new author’s note and a readers guide.
The cover is a work of art in itself! It is a colourised still of the 1933 movie “The Private Life of Henry VIII,” and the Anne Boleyn on the cover (whose eyes you cannot see) is Merle Oberon.
But wait, there’s more! The winner will also receive a 2012 edition of the Hever Castle & Gardens guidebook, 84 pages brimming with photos and information on Anne Boleyn’s childhood home.
Email entries to natalie @ onthetudortrail.com (remove spaces) with the subject line ‘Birthday Competition’.
Get creative and spread the word!
Please note that the anniversary edition of The Secret Diary of Anne Boleyn will be published in late August/early September and by submitting your letter, you are giving On the Tudor Trail permission to publish your work on our website.
