Book Description
The Elizabethan golden age was peopled by a court of flamboyant and devoted men – each one unique, ambitious and talented. At its centre was a woman, Elizabeth, the Tudor princess who succeeded to the throne of England in 1558 and who vowed to her Parliament to remain unwed and a Virgin Queen for the rest of her life. How did such a diverse group of red-blooded men view their ‘Gloriana?’ What were their aims and intentions? What were their dreams? And just how did Elizabeth manage to control and manipulate them? A unique blend of fact and fiction brings the Elizabethan court and its inhabitants to life in an evocative series of biographical sketches that will inform and entertain in equal measure.

Looks like a very interesting book.
I love to read books about The Tudors. Would love to read this book.
Looks like a good read snuggled up in a cozy chair with a roaring fire…..with a cup of ale heard with a hot poker…. (not…I don’t like beer ????)….
I would love to have this book and learn more about Elizabeth! Maybe this book will give further details on just how much Elizabeth was like her mother!
Oh, I’d truly love to read this!
LOVE the Tudor period of British history.
I think Elizabeth 1 was one of the best monarchs. I love to read about her. Surely, somehow, Anne Boleyn must have known her sacrifice was worthy and been proud…
Oooh!! It looks fantastic!!!
Sounda interesting! I hope W. Cecil gets a lot of room. He’s one of my favourites in this period.
I have the Kindle edition of this book but would LOVE a paperback copy!!
I have the kindle edition but would LOVE a paperback copy!!!
I would love to win this! Strangely, I have no books on Elizabeth, at least not Elizabeth on her own. Heard great things about this

Looks like a fantastic book. Would love to win a paperback version 🙂
I heard great things about Robert Parry’s book on Elizabeth I and I would love to win it. Thank you Robert and Natalie for the chance to win this!
Sounds fascinating. I’d love to read all about the art of courtly love and flattery. I believe it was quite an art .. I remember reading somewhere that a courtier once bent over to bow in front of Elizabeth and accidentally let go of wind….Elizabeth never forgot the incident much to the poor man’s embarrassment …opps !!
elizabeth is the most interesting queen and to read bout her reign and how her childhood affected her would be so very interesting
I’ve long been fascinated by the “did they or didn’t they ” aspect of Elizabeth and Dudley’s relationship, and Elizabeth’s obvious delight in male company always makes fascinating reading.
Thanks for the opportunity to win a copy of this intriguing book.
Always reading about Queen Elizabeth’s life is always so interesting!
I can never read enough about Elizabeth!!
My name is Elizabeth Anne….I have been well named. I collect books on both Anne and her daughter Elizabeth.
I find Anne Boleyn a real inspiration so interested to know more about her daughter.
My favourite woman in history…..Elizabeth 1…..been hooked on her since I was 6 years old! I like to think her reign gave Anne some peace, along with a quiet two-fingered salute to Henry and his angst-ridden quest for a son. Will devour this book one way or another! Merry Christmas!
I’m fascinated by Elizabeth, she was an interesting woman and reigned for a long time in an age where women generally had little if any aducation and no leadership positions, and in spite of many dangers to her life and her throne. I never get tired of reading about her and would love to read this book.
would love to read this
