Hello, On the Tudor Trail. It’s an honor to be here.
Hello, History began with a very special thank you card. A family friend noticed my frequent “likes” and mentions of posts about Anne Boleyn, and decided to pass on a special memento: a small vase in the likeness of the executed Queen, purchased twenty years ago at the Tower of London.
I envisioned a thank you card with a similar likeness, but on a bright, vibrant pink background with modern font. By the time it was complete, I already had ideas for a series featuring each of the wives, redone with modern colors and the Ladies’ own words. Within a week, the project became an obsession, and Hello, History was born.
I’ve been a life-long history buff, a part-time tour guide, a non-profit development professional, a web administrator, a database admin and a e-blast designer and, most recently, a graphic designer. I’d left a corporate job to study design and was struggling with a freelance career. I had the skills, the drive, the work-ethic, the time, to take a risk and go whole-heart to something I really loved.
Henry VIII is on the logo, but Anne Boleyn is the muse, the mascot, the inspiration, and the symbol of drive, intelligence, and overcoming adversity that has drawn scholars and armchair historians to her life and legacy centuries after she met her fate.
Hello, History’s mission is to promote excitement and passion for reading, investigating, and critically thinking about history. We strive for bright, clean design meant to excite, inspire, and uplift. We have plans for writers, artists, musicians, and patriots, as well as many more products.
But first and foremost, I wanted to start at the source: after all, there’s no one more passionate, intelligent, or involved than a Tudor fan, and if I’m to open my ideas and products up to a public, there’s no other group I want to hear from first.
What a great idea! I’ve already shared the picture of the pillows on my FB. Best of luck!
