An important message from Wendy J. Dunn…
Oh dear. How little mistakes can blow into big problems. And it was my mistake, caused by my very busy life. When I set up the email address for this year’s Tudor Ghost Story contest, I forgot to copy and paste it in the information about our competition, but trusted my memory to remember it. I suppose that was not a little mistake at all – but a rather a big one. Especially when I know how reliable my memory can be. Alas, reliability and Wendy’s memory no longer belong together in the same breath.
Anyhow – instead of providing a bon fide email address for people to enter our Ghost Story contest, I provided an email address that did not really exist. It was only recently, when I felt rather bemused at the lack of entries for what is a popular contest, I discovered my mistake.
Because it is mistake, I feel it is unfair to not to give people more time to enter the contest.
So – Nat and I have decided to keep the contest open until December 5th, with the winner announced on December 15th.
So, it is with immense delight we announce the Tudor Ghost Contest will be open for entries on July 4th. Entries will be closed on December 5th, with the winner and place getters announced on December 15th.
Please send your entries to tudorghost2018@gmail.com
Stories must be a ghost story (1500 to 3000 words) using Tudor history in some way.
There is no entry fee, but we do encourage writers who enter this competition to donate to their favourite charity. If you do this, please let us know so we can promote this charity and calculate the donations.
The winner receives a signed copy of my novel Falling Pomegranate Seeds: The Duty of Daughters and a copy of any of Natalie’s Tudor books. They will be published online at On the Tudor Trail and, thanks to the support of Claire Ridgway, in an issue of the Tudor Society Magazine. Second and Third place getters will also gain publication at On the Tudor Trail.
And, yes, I will be judging the competition once again.
Happy Writing!
