It’s been almost a year since I launched my Tudor podcast, Talking Tudors. As a complete newbie to the podcasting world, I had no idea what to expect. When I published the introductory episode, I never imagined that it would be so enthusiastically received or that so many exceptional historians and authors would join me on the show.
I’m thrilled to share that in its first year, Talking Tudors has been downloaded more than 83,000 times in over 90 countries! These statistics are a testament to the ever-growing popularity of this utterly captivating period of history.
Thank you for your continued support and encouragement. Thank you for the comments, emails, reviews and mentions on social media. Thank you to those of you who’ve so kindly sponsored a patron prize or giveaway (and feel free to get in touch if you’d like to). Good luck!
Most favorite episode is the Alison Weir one, listened too many times. Favorite writer and I was so excited when you announced she was one of your guests. Close second is Susannah Lipscomb.. Many memorable moments listening to your guests take on historical moments and the people, and that they are ordinary people with extraordinary knowledge.
So I love all of the episodes of the podcast. This is a really difficult question. But I think the one I liked the most was episode 24. The episode about Mary Queen of Scots and Elizabeth I.
This two women are so fascinating and I really loved your conversation with Professor Kate Williams.

Yay! Good luck to everyone!
I am subscribed already! And it’s so hard to pick a favorite! But a few favorite episodes are the Bathing and Personal Hygiene of Tudor England. And Talking Tudors with Alison Weir! She is one of my favorite authors on the subject so it was an incredibly enjoyable and interesting episode!
Thanks for the chance!

Gosh, this is hard as they have all been great episodes and I still have a few to catch up on! If I had to pick one, I particularly enjoyed Tudor cookery with Brigitte Webster, being interested in all things food!
Thanks for the opportunity to enter a competition and keep doing what you’re doing!
Dr Suzannah Lipscomb and her podcast on Henry VIII and his queen consorts – really interesting to hear this.
My favorite episode was Episode 36 with Allison Weir. I love her fiction and nonfiction works. I follow your page on Facebook and I’m looking forward to winning this one of a kind package!
This is very exciting and good luck to everyone. I love this site and look forward to seeing new things everyday ??
I think an early one -the special episode on Bosworth
I love them all, but I particularly enjoyed the cooking episode. I’m fascinated with Tudor cooking.
So many favorites…. Its always a pleasure to listen and learn more interesting tudor facts from so many different people. However if I had to choose one I did enjoy Tracy Borman and was envious of her job at Hampton Court Palace
It’s hard to choose! I really believe episode 20 with Sandra Vasoli about Annes letter in the Tower always stands out to me. Thank you so much for hosting this lovely giveaway!

Congratulations on reaching this milestone!
I am going to vote for the episode looking a disability during tudor times.
I have loved listening to your podcast. As a postie my days can often be quite boring but I look forward to work as I know I have 4 hours where I can listen to your podcast. One of my favourite episodes, and there have been many, was the one with Gareth Russell about Catherine Howard. It really changed my views on her, so much so that I am now researching her life to find out more!
I loved the one with historian and novelist Alison Weir – she has rapidly become my favourite historian and historical novelist after reading a number of both her non-fiction and fiction books. I can highly recommend her Six Tudor Queens historical fiction series. I got her history book Elizabeth of York – the First Tudor Queen for my birthday last week, looking forward to reading it very soon :o)
Dr Suzannah Lipscomb and her podcast on Henry VIII is my favorite. 16th of July is my birthday, if I would be chosen it would be the best birthday present ever.

My favourite is Episode 6 – The Battle of Bosworth, continually fascinated by the way in which the Tudor’s emerged.
I am brand new to the site and several other British sites. Since I just joined I haven’t been able to listen to any podcasts but I am looking forward to many hours buried in British history!!
Love hearing my favorite authors and historians talking, including Suzannah Lipscomb and Alison Weir, but if I had to choose one it would be the Tony Riches episode, continuing my obsession with Owen Tudor and Catherine of Valois.
As a new listener, I have not heard all the episodes, but so far it’s a tie between Episode 11 with Sarah Bryson and her thoughts on Mary Tudor (as the focus of my interest is the life and loves of Charles Brandon) and also Episode 16 with Nicola Tallis about Lady Jane Grey and Lettice Knollys. Thank you so much for this podcast Natalie and congratulations on your anniversary!
A very difficult choice to pick just one when all of them had something which I truly enjoyed. I would have to pick the episode where Alison Weir was present. I have so many books of hers and read whatever I can when I can as they become available. Grats also on all the amazing work you do here to keep us Tudor Lovers informed. 🙂
I love all of your episodes! I also love Suzannah Lipscomb so if I had to choose it would be her episode.
This is a great site and filled with all things Tudor. I enjoyed Tracy’s episode and being fascinated with Hampton Court and having visited on a few occasions enjoyed this episode very much. Also episode 24 and Mary Queen of Scots as Mary was a very tragic character of the Tudor period. Keep up the good work.
Love all things Tudor
If I have to choose just one favorite, it would be your talk with Alison Weir, although I think the one with with Gareth Russel would be a close second.
All of the podcasts are great, but my favorite is the Battle of Bosworth with Chris Skidmore. I enjoyed your questions and his explaining the myths and truths of the Battle.
Favorite one? So hard to choose! But, the Battle of Boswell! Hands down.
I just started the podcast but I love your passion for sharing this period of history. It is one of my favorites!
I love the episode with Susanna Lipscomb. On reviews of her documentaries I’ve seen so many people giving her backlash for her piercings, age, and even her voice. I think she really proves that there isn’t a certain way that historians have to look, that professionalism is based on the individual’s knowledge and love for what they do, and she’s so genuinely passionate whenever she speaks about history. She just makes me so happy!
The episode with Susanna Lipscomb was my favorite. On reviews for her documentaries (all of which I’ve seen and adore) she receives backlash for very petty things such as her piercings, age and even her voice. I think she proves that professionalism is solely based on the individual’s knowledge and love for the subject. She’s so passionate about the things she speaks about that it helps others become engrossed in them, and she’s just one of my biggest role models as I work towards becoming a historian as well. She makes me so happy!
I think my favourite episode is n° 29, where you talk to Lucy Churchill. I just found fascinating how she had the opportunity to work with such important pieces of history, and how she managed to reconstruct them and, in a way, make them their own. It made me want to find time to do something artistic again, and try to combine it with my other passions.
Congrats on your 1 year anniversary. I have enjoyed the episodes.
All about the Tudor Era is of interest. I do enloy Alison Wier through. Thank for the great work
My favourite episode is episode 7 – Talking Tudors with dr. Suzannah Lipscomb, she is one of my favourites when it comes to history talks!
I love them all. I would have to say my two favorites were Adrienne Dillard and Sandra Vasoli. I could have listened to them all day.
have enjoyed all but i did like James Peacock talking all things Anne Boleyn i have been a tudor fan all my life
Would be between Alison Wier or Susannah Lipscomb. Although I do love being immersed in the function of normal Tudor society too.
I’ll be honest, I haven’t listened to one yet because I just discovered this podcast! I am a Tudor obsessed as you could say ever since I found out I am a direct descendant of Jasper Tudor (even though in those times my great (x16) grandma was considered illegitimate. I have been obsessed with all the research since and find myself craving more knowledge. I hope I can still be entered because this would be amazing to win more books to read!
I’m new to the podcast and I admit I’ve skipped around a bit, listening to ones that intrigued me the most, first. I really loved the one with Tracy Borman! I loved The Kings Witch and can’t wait for the second book to be released here in Canada.
I liked hearing about Mary Queen of Scots and her trials and tribulations.
I have read several books about this period in English history.
I love all things Tudor! My favourite has to be Suzanna Lipscomb’s podcast on Henry the lll. It’s all so fascinating!
Loved talking tudors with Alison Weir
So difficult to choose just one (and I do need to catch up on a few!) but I’ll go with episode 23 with Brigitte Webster about Tudor food and cookery. I love learning details about everyday life!
I don’t listen to podcasts but if I did it would be yours and I would love it
I really enjoyed the episode by James Peacock. Anne Boleyn is hands down my FAVORITE, so this episode was a perfect choice. 🙂
My favorite episode was the first one, when the two of you were talking about the strange feelings you had in different places on your journeys – I have felt similar feelings and although i didn’t know it at the time, I found out later that at least one of those times, of having that “funny feeling”, I found out later that I had a long past family connection with that that place
James Peacock and Anne Boleyn
The one with Sandra Vasoli! Thank you for the giveaway!

I really enjoyed Chris Skidmore talking about the Battle of Bosworth. I really his book on Edward VI aswell .
Hi!
My favourite episode is an older one with Dr Estelle Paranque. She has such a passion for the Tudor time period, hearing about her learn a new language so she could follow her dreams was fab ! She is super and down to earth I lived that interview!
