Talking Tudors Podcast Anniversary Giveaway

It’s been almost a year since I launched my Tudor podcast, Talking Tudors. As a complete newbie to the podcasting world, I had no idea what to expect. When I published the introductory episode, I never imagined that it would be so enthusiastically received or that so many exceptional historians and authors would join me on the show.

I’m thrilled to share that in its first year, Talking Tudors has been downloaded more than 83,000 times in over 90 countries! These statistics are a testament to the ever-growing popularity of this utterly captivating period of history.

  1. Anna Fay says:

I may have a slight Anne Boleyn obsession so the James Peacock episode is a fave. Honestly, most of history of the UK and Ireland are all things that interest me but Henry and his wives, especially Anne always draw me in. Thanks for the chance!

  2. theresa n says:

I like episode 8 with Dr. Emma Wells, because of course someday I want to visit and love the idea of a pilgrim.
    Love the TAKEAWAYS on everything.

  3. I too will have to select Anne Boleyn. Since the day I visited The Tower of London on a high school trip many, many years ago and saw where she was beheaded, I have been fascinated. Great job!

  4. Kristian Woolace says:

My favorite episode was 36 with Allison Weir! She is one of my favorite authors and I love reading both her fiction and nonfiction books!

  5. Charlotte Fletcher says:

That is really difficult. Probably Tracy Borman as I adore hearing about Hampton Court, though Claire Ridgway would be a very close second.

  6. I did like the Episode 12 with Tony Riches because I was really interested about early Tudors, like how Edmund Tudor dared to bed his very young wife to get an heir . Margaret seems like the youngest wife I’ve heard in this time period.

  7. The James peacock episode. I love Queen Anne boleyn. I am a fan of all Tudor history. I love learning new things about the tudor era.

  8. Ann Conroy says:

I have loved learning about the Tudors. I think the education in our secondary schools focused on more modern history, so having an opportunity to learn about Henry VIII has been fascinating. Learning about each of his wives, how well educated he was has been greatly appreciated.

  9. Even though I love them all, I have to say it is Episode 4 with Gareth Russell- he is a brilliant historian, and his Catherine Howard biography is one of the strongest Tudor biographies that I’ve ever read. I loved your discussion of the “different” Catherines, and where those images/ideas of her come from- she is given so little credit and is so misunderstood, I loved that you dove deep on her! (Also, a day in the life of Catherine Howard is so tiring, I give her a lot of credit!)

  10. Rhae Blumer says:

I have only recently discovered this page, but the first one I listened to was the James Peacock (Episode 32) so I may say that’s my favorite as of yet. It grabbed my attention and I have problems focusing on podcasts. It has changed my daily commute.

  11. Deb Black says:

Loved the one with Alison Weir…. she is one of my favorite authors! It was episode 36, I believe.

  12. Charisse Lewis says:

It was so very hard to pick a favorite episode but I finally decided on episode 20.
Wishing everyone Good Luck on the contest!

  13. Tammy Lapointe says:

Anne Boleyn, anything regarding this queen grabs my attention; thank you!

  14. Jamie Kidd says:

I loved the episode about Mary Tudor and Charles Brandon with Sarah Bryson. I picked up Sarah’s book afterword and now I’m kind of obsessed with Mary! She sure knew how to handle Henry. 🙂

  15. Catherine Hackert says:

Claire Ridgeway, always love to hear what she has to say. Love your AB book and it has been my guide on 2 trips to England, in 2005 and this past June.

  16. Andi Zs. says:

Episode 10 was my favorite. The episode about daily life. It was very interesting. Thanks for the chance!?

  17. The Alison Weir episode

  18. Amanda Marshall says:

Congrats on your one year anniversary! It’s so hard to pick a favorite because all of the episodes have been so interesting, but I have to say the episode about Tudor fashion and the more recent one about Hever castle have been my favorite so far!

  19. My favourite is episode 36 with Alison Weir. Alison is one of my all time favourite historians and her work on the Tudors is just phenomenal. I had the pleasure of attending a talk with her last year and she really does bring her work to life. I wish she’d narrate her audiobooks!

  20. I would definitely have to say 36, because Allison Weir is one of my fav historians and I love all her books!! As a non native English speaker, I’ve been obsessing with British history since I first read one of her books. Thanks for all!

  21. I love the James Peacock episode because I love Anne Boleyn. She’s such a misunderstood soul. I would have loved to see Henry and Anne’s reaction to knowing that Elizabeth became one of the greatest monarchs in English history.

  22. Lina Susanne Andersson says:

I really enjoyed episode 37, the talk about Anna of Cleve, so now I have to read Heather’s book. I’m intrigued by Anna and Henry’s marriage and relationship.

  23. I am intrigued by the priest who scaled the walls of the tower.

  24. Michelle Tercha says:

I loved Gareth Russell and Claire Ridgeway! As well as Dr Susannah Lipscomb and Conor Byrne, and Alison Weir! Or, can I say I love them all! Thank you for a chance to win! Michelle t

  33. Susan Corrigan says:

I loved the episode from June 14 with Alison Weir, not only because I love her books, but because she is so down to earth and comfortable to listen to. This particular episode stayed with me because of her description of expanding her gifts into to historical fiction. As a wanna-be writer, I found encouragement in this at a very difficult time in my life. This episode not only fed my passion for Tudor history, but threw a ray of light and hope into my day. Thank you!

  34. I enjoy them all but I especially loved Phillipa Vincent-Connelly talking about Disabilities and theTudors. She was so enthusiastic and an ex fashion student like me so I felt very at home with her chat . Always something unexpected comes out in these chats , love your questions Natalie .
    Congratulations on this anniversary

  35. What a wonderful prize! I loved Emma Levitt’s episode on jousting and masculinity, which really helped me with something I’m working on at the moment. Congratulations on a fantastic first year of Talking Tudors, Natalie, and here’s to many more to come!

  36. Chris Snyder says:

I am obsessed with The Tudors and just found your Podcast!!! I love it!!!! I would be thrilled to win this package!!!

  37. Definitely the episode with Alison Weir. Not only was her nonfiction work instrumental in writing my thesis on Henry VIII, I’ve enjoyed every single book that she’s written and this episode was amazing!

  38. Prezza Rene says:

My absolute favourite podcast! It’s been a wonderful distraction from a rough year. My day is instantly better when I can escape into the Tudor court with Natalie 🙂 thanks for all your hard work!

  40. Would love to read these books! I love anything Tudor and love your podcast.

  42. Laura Blair says:

I’ve started a Beaufort phase at the moment so has to be Ep. 17. Although I’ve got a few to get through so that may change! Love Talking Tudors and if I can add to my (already too big according to my husband) collection of books on the era then that would be fab…

  43. My favorite was Allison weir #36 but I enjoy so many of them there done wonderfully

  44. Jeanette L Baker says:

I have been a loyal follower and Tudor lover my whole life. I’m retired, live at the beach and spend my days devouring Tudor book. I would love winning these

  46. Lisa Prince says:

Although I have enjoyed all of them, my favorite is The Battle of Bosworth with Chris Skidmore. He brought some new information and dispelled some long-running rumours. I enjoy your questions to the speaker and also the 10 Questions at the end.

Allison Weir because she’s one of my favorite authors.

Thank you for your pod cast and Happy Anniversary!

  50. Episode 36 with Alison Weir. I had been so hoping you’d have her as a guest!
