I am delighted to share that Sarah Morris, aka The Tudor Travel Guide, and I are running a four-day virtual progress focusing on one part of the 1535 progress undertaken by Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn.
We’ve put together a virtual progress through Gloucestershire, retracing the footsteps of Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII as part of the historic 1535 summer progress. You are cordially invited to pack up your virtual belongings and call for your virtual horse to be made ready. Join us, as we travel virtually from Sudeley Castle, via Tewkesbury, Gloucester, Leonard Stanley and Berkeley Castle, before arriving at the romantic Thornbury Castle.
And here’s the best bit – it’s entirely FREE to join.
What to expect:
You will be able to join Sarah, from The Tudor Travel Guide, and I, over four days, as we discuss the context of the 1535 progress, each of the locations and what we know of the events unfolding along the way. Although the part of the progress in question – from Sudeley to Thornbury – took around a month to actually complete, we will run our virtual progress over just 4 days starting on Thursday 24 October 2019.
Here is your itinerary:
24 October: Introduction and Sudeley Castle
25 October: Tewkesbury Abbey and Gloucester
26 October: Leonard Stanley and Berkeley Castle
27 October: Thornbury Castle and close
There will be lots of Tudor facts, photos and laughter along the way – as there always is when Sarah and I get together! If you can’t travel to England, this is your perfect chance to go on your own (virtual) Tudor road trip – and if you can, maybe this will inspire you, as you plan your next Tudor-themed vacation. Whichever way, we’d love you to join us.
Here’s what you need to do:
Simply click here to sign up to reserve your spot on our 1535 Virtual Progress. In return, you will receive a confirmatory email that you are booked on the progress. We are also hoping to do a live chat after the conclusion of the final video. Stay tuned for more details. Can’t wait to see you there!

You’re welcome!
I’m in the United States – will the videos be available at a specific time, or can I watch at a time of my choosing.
At a time of your choosing, Irene. 🙂
